Tebogo started her career in research in various positions at ForegeAhead (Pty) Ltd in 1997. After her career as senior research consultant, she took up a position as Manager for  Sector skills plan and research at Information Systems, Electronics and telecommunications Technologies (ISETT) Sector Education Training Authority  (SETA) 2001. She then worked for the State IT Agency (SITA), within the procurement division, as a supply management consultant creating a framework for the accreditation as suppliers of well deserving enterprises that are committed to Black economic empowerment. (2003) She is currently Director: Sales and Marketing at Torque Technical Computer Training (Torque-IT), One of the largest IT Skills development solutions accredited with Global Technology vendors. She started as Group Business development Director.

Mrs Teryl Schroenn

Since her appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Accsys (Pty) Ltd., Teryl Schroenn has focused on building a company that is both profitable and relevant in the South African market.
She has spent her whole career in the IT field, starting as a programmer at NCR, moving into Business Analysis and then decided, after a year off travelling with her husband, that sales and marketing was a good direction.

She joined Philips in their PC and Word Processing sales and then returned to software sales and channel management in the insurance arena.

Next was payroll and HR at Paywise as a branch manager and then director of the company and she has been with Accsys first as Sales Director and then as CEO since 2002.

She was selected as the Corporate winner of the BWA’s Gauteng Regional Business Woman of the Year in 2006. She is committed to mentoring other women and is actively involved in 3 external mentorship programs as well as heading up the BWA mentoring committee in 2008 and 2009. Accsys has won a number of awards under her leadership, including the 2007 Top Technology 100 Award for Excellence in the Management of People.
She is a mother of a son of 22 and a daughter of 24 and has been married for 27 year

Mrs Sylvia Thomaides

Sylvia uses her 19 years of experience in the recruitment industry and compares the recruiter of the 1990’s to the recruiter of today and finds very little in common with the two. Business has changed so drastically especially the last 10 years that the recruitment industry had to change accordingly to survive.

Over the years she was able to explore and specialise in most aspects of business and the intimate knowledge gained from this practice makes this individual a vital asset to business in SA. Sylvia’s top accomplishments do not stop in recruitment!

Ex-President of APSO (Association of Personnel Services Organisation of SA), currently sits on the ITA SA exco (Information Technology Association of SA).

Owner of Tricruit, a 14 year old successful recruitment agency, specialising in the sourcing and career planning of scarce skills, Tritrain, the recruitment training arm responsible for training over 1800 recruiters nationally; her recruitment manuals are logged with the Services SETA pending evaluation for the first recruitment diploma in SA.

Anthony Fitzhenry is the Chief Executive of Axiz, an employee-owned, South African, information technology infrastructure manufacturer and distributor.

Prior to starting Axiz in 1989, his career has included periods in Asia, Australia and the USA.

Anthony partnered with several global employee ownership experts, the National Productivity Institute (NPI) and Axiz employees to develop a model for employee ownership and economic empowerment. Through the Axiz Employee Ownership Trust, all employees democratically influence and benefit from the profits and future growth of their company.

With over 600 employees, Axiz is, without doubt, one of local success stories. Anthony believes in leading by example, and is passionate about creating sustainable communities. Director General: Department of Communications

Ms Mamodupi Mohlala was appointed Director-General of the Department of Communications. This follows the ratification of her appointment by Cabinet on 26 August 2009.

A qualified Attorney, Ms Mohlala holds an MBA from the Telecommunications Academy in London, a Certificate in Telecommunications Regulation from the University of Florida, USA. In addition to her BA Law from the University of Swaziland, she also holds an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand, an LLM from the same institution, and a Senior Executive Management Programme from the London Business School.

Prior to being appointed Communications Department Director-General, Ms Mohlala was the Chief Executive Officer, or Pension Fund Adjudicator, in the Office of the Pension Fund Adjudicator, a position she has held since 2007.
Following the formation of ICASA to replace the old Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) in 2000, Ms Mohlala was appointed Councilor at the fledgling regulator in 2002, and served until 2007. Her key responsibilities at ICASA included regulatory and licensing activities in the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Sector as contemplated in terms of the ICASA Act. Ms Mohlala has also served as Managing Director of Mohlala Attorneys Incorporated, was a Lecturer at the University of South Africa and at the Practical Legal School, as well as a Candidates Attorney at Deneys Reitz Attorneys, among others.

She joins the Department as its third Director-General and with a formidable reputation in the industry.

Mteto Nyati has been managing director of Microsoft South Africa since 1 September 2008. He came to

Microsoft from a 12-year career at IBM, where he held a series of senior executive roles, including that of an executive director of IBM’s South African operations. His efforts saw him awarded IBM’s prestigious Golden Circle for 2008.Mteto has a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal and an MBA from Wits University. In 2004, he was named as one of the Yale University’s World Fellows on Global Leadership.

Mr Jonathan Goldberg

Jonathan attended leading academic institutions throughout the country and achieved numerous accolades and awards. Amongst these awards were the Old Mutual Award for outstanding academic achievement, a Nedbank MBA bursary and the HMS Louw award (top student). In his quest for knowledge, Jonathan has accumulated a B.Comm degree (Bachelor in Commerce), a  LL.B (Baccalaureus Legum) degree, a Honours in Business Administration (HBA)degree (cum laude), a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree (cum laude). Jonathan started his career at IDEC Financial Services (Pty) Ltd where he joined as a consultant, was appointed managing director soon after and eventually purchased the business in 1989. Jonathan expanded the business into the field of industrial relations and at the same time founded Global Business Solutions (where he still holds the position of CEO) which has become a leading business consultancy focusing on strategic interventions including training, labour law and business to business solutions in the area of broad-based black economic empowerment. Throughout his career, Jonathan has being involved with numerous blue chip clients and has become a respected voice on broad based black economic empowerment in which field he Co-authored “Cracking Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment” in 2005 (the first published authority in South Africa) and “Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Final codes and scorecard” in 2008 (a complete rework to the first publication). Over and above consulting to a range of enterprises on black economic empowerment, Jonathan has facilitated various high profile BBBEE business transactions. Jonathan is an accredited commissioner of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), an IMSEC Arbitration and Mediation panelist and member of the Tokiso dispute settlement panel. He and his associate companies have numerous investments in business and he serves on the board of many companies. Jonathan is the leader and developer of the Wits Business School's executive development programme in BBBEE.

Ms Morwesi Ramonyai

Morwesi Ramonyai is a young entrepreneur and social activist with a passion for transformation. She holds a number of company directorships and leadership positions in professional organisations. She’s a graduate of Rhodes University with a Higher Diploma in Computer Auditing from Wits University and an Honours degree in its completion. 

She has previously worked as an account executive for Computer Associates Africa and was a consultant with KPMG in the Information Technology Advisory unit.

She is a founding partner and Chief Executive of Draxin Technologies; a technology solutions company. Its flagship product is a mine safety technology that has been in development for years and going to market in mid 2010. She also consults and advises on compliance to the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act and Transformation in general and provides strategy development and implementation services.

She is the National Deputy President and Gauteng Chairperson of the Black Information Technology Forum (BITF), the Deputy Chairperson of the Professional Women’s Forum (PWF), a member of the executive committee of the recently formed Confederation of Black Business Organosations (CBBO), sits on the Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) Council and serves on the Transformation Policy Committee.

Keith was born on 19th September, 1952 of South African Parents. He is married to Schane and has three sons. He and his family are resident in Johannesburg. 

Keith began his business career with Standard Bank in 1970 before moving to Caltex Oil where he spent the next fifteen years fulfilling various Management positions and portfolios in their Johannesburg Regional Office, Cape Town Regional Office as well as their Head Office in Cape Town. During his stay at Caltex Keith was awarded “Sales Manger of the Year” as well as “Sales Manager to achieve most incremental new liters”.Keith also actively developed a number of new service stations throughout the country and also spent time as a lecturer at their Training Centre “Woodland Heights”. He developed a training program to uplift the skills of Pump Attendants throughout South Africa. He was also actively involved in the project to sell Motor Oil through the Supermarkets, a first in South Africa.In 1988, Keith left Caltex Oil to run his own Service Station for a while and was then Head hunted to be CEO of Service Centre Management (Pty) Ltd, a Company that was instrumental in setting up the Business arm of the South African Black Taxi Association (SABTA). In the short space of two years they became the single largest purchaser of fuel, oil and tyres in the country. Unfortunately, at the time violence in the industry made it untenable and he left in 1990.In 1990, Keith then joined National Occupational Safety Association (NOSA) as CEO, successfully restructuring the Company and increasing turnover and profitability by 39%. He was responsible for launching the Company and its projects in Australia, Sweden, Hong Kong, Brazil, United Kingdom and United States.Keith left NOSA in 1993 to spend a year as General Manager of Firestone South Africa.In 1994 Keith decided to pursue his own business interests in Management Consulting and teamed up with GPM/SPA Consultants as the Managing Consultant specializing in Strategic Management and People skills to many multinational Companies, locally and Internationally.In 1998, Axiz became a client of GPM and after some time as their Consultant, Keith joined their Board of Directors looking after Logistics, HR, IT, Manufacturing, Facilities, Safety and Security.Keith matriculated at Damelin College in 1969 and has been educated at Damelin College, Stellenbosch Graduate School of Business, UCT Graduate School of Business, La Salle University and Century University in the USA.Keith is a previous President of ITA.Keith enjoys cycling, swimming and Motorsport and is a qualified Diving Instructor.

David Barnard

David Barnard is the Executive Director of the Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) (since 1 June 2000). Before joining SANGONeT, he managed the Programme for Development Research (PRODDER) at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) (1992-2000), establishing the PRODDER Directory as the most comprehensive publication on development organisations in Africa.

He has published and contributed to more than 30 development publications. His areas of expertise include the role of the international development and funding community in Southern Africa, the role of the NGO sector in Southern Africa, corporate citizenship and the involvement of the corporate sector in development issues, and the contribution of information and ICT in support of development processes. He serves on President Mbeki’s National Commission on the Information Society for Development (PNC-ISD).

David Barnard holds BA and BA (Hons) degrees (both cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch, and has participated in management training at Cranfield University (UK) and City University of New York (USA).

Rubiena started her career at an NGO that provided support services to survivors of domestic violence and rape.  Her role encompassed national education of women on these issues through the media, newspapers, motivational talks, lectures at schools and various companies.

For the last 10 years she has been working for IT multinationals in the Human Resources field.

 She has been with Dell for 3 years and her responsibility is HR for Africa, BEE, Chairperson of the Dell Development Fund and the SA Women’s Network.
