The Information Technology Users Council (ITUC) formerly known as the Computer Users Council (CUC) is an external examinations body that deals specifically with examinations in COBOL. After having merged with the Information Technology Association (ITA) in mid 2000 the ITUC now functions within the ITA as a division.

Over the past 26 years more than 45 000 candidates have written and passed the ITUC examinations. Currently the ITUC hosts two sittings of examinations annually, in May and November for the IT Divisions of both ABSA and FNB.
